The main difference
A singing bowl gives you one tone and its overtones. You do not play melodies; you listen. A handpan is a melodic instrument: you play notes, rhythms and whole pieces. Both calm the nervous system, but in different ways.
Choose a singing bowl if
- You want to listen and breathe more than to play.
- You meditate daily for 5–20 minutes.
- You want vibration you can feel in the body.
- Your budget is up to a few hundred euros: our bowls start at €190.
Choose a handpan if
- You want to express yourself with music, even without any training.
- You like the idea of improvising and getting lost in play.
- You plan to play for others: sound sessions, yoga classes, small concerts.
- You are ready to invest more: our handpans start at €1 600.
Can you start with both?
Many people start with a bowl for daily practice and add a handpan later. The other way round works too. What matters is which sound you want to come back to every day.
Decide by ear
The best test is listening. Open the handpans and singing bowls pages, put on headphones and compare. Each instrument has a real recording. If you are still unsure, write us in Telegram and we will help.
